LAST REQUEST

She passed through heaven's door today

the gate was open wide.

He said, "Come in my child, and take a peek,

you are welcome here inside."

She smiled and lingered just a bit . . .

in awe of this heavenly peace!

The urge to follow, the need to stay, then whispered

"I need but a few more days, please?

Days to feel their hands in mine;

their kisses on my cheek

from family and friends gathered

before it's Your touch that I seek.

Then I'll gladly pass through heaven's door

and pass my final test

with open arms and blessings from all

they can lay me down to rest.

I Thank You Lord, for being fair

and granting my last request.

My final breath will pass with ease

as I reside with Heaven's best!

All MY Love Myrna, you will be missed! xoxoxo

Synopsis
I hear it all the time, people want to know when they are going to die, people don't want to know. It's a very touchy subject with some but the rule is ... You live and you die. We are all going to get there. This poem was inspired by the passing of my sister-in-law. She has had a couple of rough years with medical issues scattered throughout but she is a fighter and she got through and became stronger. Only to be diagnosed mid May 2013 with what would be her last diagnosis of yet another cancer. She was given a timeline of 3 - 6 months. Devastating news for anyone to hear. She was a Blessed Woman, always with a kind spirit, a smile in her heart, and a giving sole. After her diagnosis, she lived but a month but it gave her children, family and friends time to say farewell until we meet on the other side . . . This is for you Myrna!
