As I sat there on the patio

Just listening to the night

My mind began to wander

As I took in this beautiful sight.

Sitting in the glider

Gently swaying to and fro,

A quiet chirping in the distance,

As the sky puts on a show.

The city lights are casting shadows

As I watch the sun so slowly set.

The colors ever changing I ask,

"How much better can this get?"

'Cept to have you here beside me

Both just taking in the view.

Our words .. they go unspoken,

Yet, somehow we just knew

This would be the first of many

We would share from this day on,

Still sitting in the glider

Cuddled up until the dawn.

Then we'd sit and watch the sunrise

As we thank the Lord above,

For sending down His angels

To bless us with His Love.
