Celestial Travelers

Let’s kiss good-bye to Mother globe,
sea of green and land of gold,
hitch a ride on the curved white moon
and wave back at this world of fools.

We’ll visit the land of lunar man,
turn the Big Dipper upside down
and string the stars into one straight line.

We’ll dance in the dust of Haley’s comet
leave our steps for others to ponder.
Jitterbug to Jupiter and swing over Saturn
to peek across the horizon that leads to tomorrow.
