Confessions of a Deep Depression
Marking my land with nothing but fear
feeble tender minds creating but only leer.
Moments reflect ones selfish past
but the moments reject as they continue to last.

Seconds flying like minutes my body freezes still
for I sit back embracing with nothing but chills.
Minutes to an hour, nothing seems to be fine
everything is crashing, i am choking on that wine.

Sweeter taste of bitter dismay
breaks my heart in many ways.
This time of broken wretched hate
creates the tone of those who bait.

THIS MOMENT IS CAPTURING INSIDE OF ME
all that is knowing is grown weak.
FOR THIS TIME OF A SIMPLE PLEASURE
has continually shown to be bleak.

THIS MINUTE AS WHEN ITS HOUR
its shoving my mind in two.
BUT THE SECONDS LASTING FOR HOURS
are making my heart break too.

NOW PLEASE EXPRESS
all these Confessions one must present
HELP ME TO REST
this deep depression i must consent.

For this time has come to end
as my body wishing not to bend.
I have been released of all consent
so now my depression must be quenched.

The love of my life was a drug addict. He died at 38 and he never found what he was looking for...watching someone struggle to try to fix what's broken inside of them is so very hard. Thanks for sharing.

This is very well done. I agree with Raven Ink your work feels as though you have been writing for some time.

I dated someone for many years who was bipolar. It broke my heart to watch his inner-torment and not be able to do anything about it. You did a beautiful job articulating the feelings of those who watch their loved ones suffer from mental illness.
