Spoon Fed
As helpless as a baby. . . though I did not think it so
Though 'inaction' did suggest there's something more
Now thirty 'something - something' and behaving soo 'ghetto'
Soon diminished all the virtues you lived for

So use to striving little that your mantra read like this:
"Well. . . I'll do the least amount of work I can...
But I'll make an honest effort should that effort yield me bliss"
Summed the workings of your life and master plan

Though you enjoyed the finer things that filled your space around
You still sought to have those things you'd  own  -  for free
So as many as your suitors 'lent a heaping' by the pound
You were giddy as a 'summer's bumble bee'

You would never part one comfort, nor a sacrifice would make
To be frugal in your spending - there's no way
So just like 'mama's baby' you would whine for goodness sake
Till a friend or two would come and save your day

On easy street you hoped to be... your quiet dreams concealed
When you found your prince -  the one whose wealth he'll give
And in your mouth... 'A silver Spoon'..., your future's soon revealed
But 'til then it's from ones 'Hand to Mouth' you'll live
