day in, day out

day in day out, i'm raising kids that aren't mine
day in day out, their mama out drinking wine
day in day out, my life becomes harder
no mother at home to help
daddy left long ago without regret

day in day out, these kids are crying
day in day out, i just want to give up trying
day in day out, i can only stand strong
no food to eat, but mama don't care
and it aint like we on welfare

day in day out, i'm missing classes at school
day in day out, mama taking me for a fool
day in day out, this teen is no longer cool
living like an adult mother at 14 yrs old
this is too much stress ten times fold

day in i grow stronger

day out i pray it won't last longer

***(to any teen or child reading this that has to take
the responsibility of taking care of your siblings
at a young age. keep your head up, stay strong
and pray to your higher power. It may not seem
like it, but a change will come.)

Powerful and touching. I feel your frustration and pains. WarriorPrincess is so right. Keep your prayers and your head up.

Your writing is hearty felt. Sincere words passing many messages. Speaking to god at the good and bad times;its good to see the encouragement of praying.

Thank you so much. Much of my writings come from the heart. I have gone through so much as a child, as a teen, and as I became an adult. Literature is the raeson I am still here. Writing is a form of release now and I no longer feel I am going through these emotions alone. I am a survivor of many road blocks in life. I think the lord saved me that night for a reason. To write my experinces out. To help some one else from taking their life or giving up when things get a little rough. I have more and I thank you princess for taking the time out to read my writings.

Again, I am so proud of you! This is truth and from your heart - poetry - the best kind! I am proud of you for the encouragement you give to others! And especially for letting them know to pray and to never give up! I was pregnant with my first child at age fifteen and by age twenty-three, I was raising my own two children as well as my nephew. So I completely understand where you're coming from. But, as you tell others...I did a lot of praying and I never gave up! A change will definitely come! Keep writing and doing what God has planned for you life. I gladly give you a 10!
