Glass Half Full
What a crumbling world we live in
Beauty's hard to find these days
with everything breaking free
forging new ideas and ways.
Old trails of honor are broken
true justice is soiled and lost
personal gain is much more now;
reaching the top at all costs.
When all innocence is forsaken,
where do we turn to for light?
The simple joy of a smile
now seems like a constant fight.
Helping a friend is too much;
not worth the risk of lost time
even a simple 'I love you'
can often be passed as a crime.
But this world is still far from darkness,
keep your glass while it is half full!
There may be setbacks, but humans don't care:
We live, and it's Beautiful.

Synopsis
I'm exhausted, and this is a draft, so I apologize ahead of time for mistakes and out-there phrases. I was bored and challenged myself with a random 20-line poem, so here you go! Feedback is welcome - nay, encouraged! Hope you enjoy :)
