"I Realize"
As I sit,
With my feet dangling
Over a new precipice,

I realize that all I am about to lose:
All I have nurtured,
Created,
Fought for,
Sacrificed for,
Worked for,
Risked,
And earned,
All my life,

I realize that after all I've given, with
So little expected,
So little secure,
So little in return,

I realize I am on my own,
As I have always been,
Except for a few hours,
A couple of weeks,
A couple of bucks,
A couple of kisses,
Bestowed me,
Out of fleeting love or obligation,

And as I look over my shoulder,
From my new precipice,
I realize,
That for awhile,
This was truly mine.

It's all about living for the moment and taking a chance at whatever comes your way. None of us has a crystal ball. There's no way of knowing what curve-balls will come flying at us. Carpe diem: seize the day Or Tis better to have loved and lost, than never to have loved at all - Alfred, Lord Tennyson, 1850
