Autumn's Time

 I feel it's Autumn's time foretold,
In chilly evenings' breeze.
Red and violet, flame and gold,
The trees let go with ease,

The leaves that slept in Winter's bud,
And fought so hard to wake,
From freshest green to red of blood,
The year's course will remake:

The strokes of Nature's painting-brush,
Of seasons' change of pace.
Of shortened days and Winter's rush
To bring on Springtime's grace.

This is lovely Michele. Autumn is such a lovely time of year. I live on Canada's east coast. The colours here are stunning, or will be in another month from now. Thanks for posting..

I love nature poems and this is one that I can feel and see. They say spring and autumn are the most colorful times of the year and you prove it with this.

Synopsis
This is a sort-of-sonnet. When I read it myself after I'd finished it, I realized it forgets all about Summer!
