The Intruder

The Intruder
Drawn into the shadows of darkness
Still and hidden from the intruder
Fearing the eerie gray creatures
Scampering and scratching along the wall.
My feet are buried in cement
And my hands bound in ropes.
Black is the cage surrounding me;
My mind holds no concept of light.
So desolate-my eyes are too strained.
Silently will the intruder peer upon me
And ever so quickly devour his prey
While "they" continue to scamper and play.
