The Karate Kid



Act one

     : Introduction to characters and conflict                

                        - Daniel and his mom are moving from Jersey to California in their 1975 station wagon!

                        - Daniel is on the beach making friends with a young lady when her ex boyfriend comes up and gets unruly and jealous.

     

     : Dramatic Premise 

                        - A young boy's journey on fighting to becoming a man. 

     

     : Ordinary World

                        - California High School, 1980's two young kids in love but one boy stands in their way. 

     

     : Inciting Incident

                        - An Old Japanese man enters young Daniel into a State Karate match


Act two

    : Obstacles

                        - Daniel gets into fights, and then avoids the crew of boys, Finds patients within himself 

     

     : First Culmination

                        - Daniel gets angry one evening and thinks this is all a waste, but Mr. Miyagi showed him that all he was doing 

                           was paying off, he was really learning true karate.

    

     : Midpoint

                        - Daniel takes a kick from one of his opponents and almost cost him being the champ


    : Climax

                  - Daniel is beaten and almost broken but he has one last good kick in him for the title 

  

 Act Three

    : Denouement

                        -  After Daniel gives that last good crane kick he finally defeats his opponent and wins

                    everyone is shouting and jumping for joy including Mr. Miyagi who is standing off to the

                           side very proud!

      

     : Resolution

                         -  Daniels opponent is defeated but he shows compassion by handing the trophy and 

                            congratulates him on his win
