Predator

Predator

I pursue you using stealth; I am on your trail

I anticipate your slip, when I will prevail

I am the hunter, but you don’t know

I keep my secret, so you can’t know

I will rend your soul, you have no defense

My vision rabid, my hunger intense

I long to devour you, but you don’t know

The truth is mine, so you can’t know

I live to destroy you, you live in ignorance

Your end consolation, my sweet victory dance

I’ve hunted before, but you don’t know

My lies comfort you, so you can’t know

I am twisted in my hell, by your own misdeeds

I will feast on your demise, it is what I need

I am your creation, but you don’t know

You left me to die, so you can’t know

You write with such feeling and it sucks the reader in to feel your pain. Wonderful work.

I am like you in that I hope I am never on the receiving end of this too! Still you did a good job here with your telling of the darkness the predator has.

Synopsis
Well, o.k. - I may have some anger issues... : ) This poem started out kind of uninspired, then took on a little life of it's own. In the end I like it. Hope I'm never on the receiving end of these type of ominous thoughts.
