Light of Yestermorrow

A light far off, she beckons

A rotted hulk, I shudder

Moved by the yearning

Mourning, hopeful

I set sail, yonder shore

Near death, I swoon

Tortured in the learning

Wary, doubtful

Her beauty guides, I follow

Alive, but not well

Frightened of a turning

Leary, wistful

Cast away doubt, land ho

Desire, it burns

Frothing and churning

Succumbing, blissful

Will the right, left wrong

Scarred, yes crippled

Wizened fires burning

 Stupefied, hateful

Take heed, weary knight

Dismount old, white horses

Tides are turning

Weary, fateful

A shipwreck, less a monster

Prophesied, and doomed

Eons discerning

Gallant, joyful

I couldn't help but think of underworld, for me it feels like a Gothic melody and i guess that's why it reminds me of that movie. It's also very lyrical, it's defiantly something i can see becoming big and well known if put out in front of people.

great poem. form, style, vocab, all delightful. the only word i shuddered at was "hulk" - it's just a word that's changed so much over time. but i love the tone and this truly is a very good piece of poetry.
