Not Alone

Live as though you will die tomorrow,
but be prepared to live forever,
life is time we all must barrow,
all earthly ties we will sever.

I can feel the reaper draw near,
yet when my time has come,
I will neither be frozen by fear,
nor have awe strike me dumb.

We can not know the unknown,
the future is every man's gamble,
we should neither be the first to throw stones,
nor make life a blind mans Scramble.

Of course the most important lesson of all,
is that every man is equally prone,
to rise to great heights or just trip and fall,
but even at the bottom we are not alone.
