By Spring Rains
The deep rolling thunder hits you hard in the chest, rocking you to the core.
Reeling back on your heels, you gasp feverishly in hopes of catching a breath.
Alas, your breath is stolen in the super-charged atmosphere that surrounds you.
Your lungs positively crackle with air that seems to carry a palpable charge.
The dark grey vault of clouds above, is violently torn apart before your eyes.
Split by a forked serpent’s tongue of the most brilliant azure flame.
The scorched thirsty earth is bombarded by smooth icy droplets.
And you are thoroughly drenched with an exhilarating wonder, by spring rains.
