Old Apartment

Went back to that old apartment

I stared at the open closet

Where my heart used to hang

Can’t help but notice that keyboard

Where all my thoughts have been poured

On the last song we sang

Our love’s life was just like that song

We’ve reached the last note and we’re done

But that was when my life began

Now I know I loved you more

When we lost that spark

For I only learned what love is

Once we were apart

I never thought of this before

But losing you was my start

Yes I only learned what love is

When you broke my heart

Avoided the scattered pieces

Of shattered glass and traces

Of my life in frame

And that dusty broken mirror

Reflected our closed chapter

Our burnt out flame

Our love was just like that mirror

It was fragile, so breakable

But that made me become willful

I never thought I would come through

But this old apartment soon won't remind me of you

For I've found the me I’ve never known

From the new strength my heart had shown

And so…

I’ll be locking this apartment

And I’ll be cleaning the closet

Of our memories

And you made me love you more

Even more than before

When you broke my heart

Nicely done. I think, for accompaniment, a solo acoustic guitar?

WISH I COULD DREAM FOREVER

Selene, enchantress of the night,
Chain me with light
To this wonder –
My dream’s zephyr.

Let me drift to a paradise
Where no one lies,
And no disdain
Runs through my veins.

Whisper me Endymion’s curse –
Zeus’ spell verse,
So dire sunbeams
Won’t fail my dreams.
