Remember Me

Remember Me

Through the trenches and the stench of death from the mustard gas. Because of me you proudly enjoy all the freedoms that I provide. Through the bloody beaches of Normandy I clawed and fought tyranny so you wouldn’t have to. When I froze my limbs to defend those who couldn’t defend themselves in the 38th parallel.  I didn’t ask why I answered the call, I answered the call because that’s what I do I’m a soldier.  When I watched in silence and pain while my buddies got loaded in to body bags in the jungles of a far away place called Vietnam, I sucked it all in and understood freedom isn’t free sometimes we must pay the ultimate price. To provide the freedom you enjoy and sleep under each and every day.  I deployed twice to a place called Iraq and Once to Afghanistan I did it like many times before and other before me did for freedom and for my beloved red white and blue.  So the next time you see me I only ask that you don’t forget me and remember me not just on memorial day, but each and every day.  When you see me on street the come up to me and shake my hand and say a simple thanks, it will mean more to me than all the metals that I proudly wear upon my chest. Next time you visit your dear departed at the local cemetery stop by my buddies grave kneel down and give a prayer of thanks because it is he who paid the ultimate price so that we can enjoy the simple freedoms we take for granted each and every day.

Dedicated to all those who give so much for price of freedom.
