To The Pain
The pain the pain the horrible pain
Continuous agony in refrain
Nothing more to lose, nothing to gain
There is no more - only the pain
My soul is drowning in bitter rain
Screaming in silence, waxing insane.
Silent echos in my brain
Can only say "The pain The pain"
It hurts, it bleeds, it is my bain
But it can't kill me not again
While I walk I am already slain
By the pain, the horrible pain
Therein the heartless misery main
A broken heart punctures no vein
No blood is lost but all the same
The pain the pain the horrible pain.

Synopsis
Sometimes what kills you just hurts.
A Word from the Writer
"To the Pain", for those unfamiliar with The Princess Bride, is a torturous duel method described in which the loser is disfigured by the battle but lives on with perfect ears to hear the horrified exclamations of those who happen upon his living remains. It means being left "wallowing in freakish misery forever"
