Restless slumber
On the edge of
tumultuous sheets
Evening,
winter blue,
surrounds me
The window,
my moving picture,
framed in
midnight
The scene:
White, cottony sheets
laid upon earth,
the blue of night
washed upon
them;
Trees draped
in veils of ice
sway to the
rhythms of
life;
Ambience
given by a
silver orb
amongst a twinkling
backdrop
A shadow
moves
within
shadows
Darkness
that surrounds
it,
absorbed
A figure steps
out,
an umbrella
of
dark
covers it;
light
flees
from it
His sadness
overwhelms
me
Tears...
like the icicle
drips
from his
touch
He slumps
Head in hands
Swaying trees
do not
move him
Standing,
walking to the
picture
before me;
hand upon
its
chilliness
Eyes of a shadow
meet mine
Fear
Warmth
Sorrow
Lonliness
Blink
and
vanish
No shadow
upon
the snow
I lay back,
grab sheets
strangled
in the
night
Eyes close
They
meet
empty
shadows
Tonight...
the devil smiled at me
