Unseen Dangers

Unseen Dangers

By Elton Camp

It doesn’t matter whether we are here or there

Dangers we’ve no way to detect are everywhere

When we learn it, there may be no way to swerve

From the path of a drunk driver around the curve

The person we meet who seems extremely nice

May actually be one who has murdered twice

The café where we eat, so very clean may seem

But its kitchen is filthier than you can dream

A doctor who on the state of our health does pass

May, in reality, have finished dead last in his class

So a person who thinks he’s safe and doing well

May not even hear approaching disaster’s knell

No, it wasn't intended to be taken that way. It is just a commentary on the many uncertainties of life and not wriltten in anger at all. Of course, readers interpret it in view of their own feelings which is one purpose of poetry I guess. Thanks for reading and taking the time to comment. Elton

seems like your mood of the story is very dark and angry. Maybe it is the mind of a murderer?
