The Doctor's Secret Thoughts

The Doctor’s Secret Thoughts

By Elton Camp

I think you might have the flu

Here is what I’ll have you to do

Take this shot of penicillin

To wipe out that evil villain

That it’s to a virus due

Means naught to you

Antibiotics against them ineffective

But of my own income are protective

You’ll tell others you came here sick

And I didn’t care, not even a lick

I was just a medical snake

Didn’t give anything to take

Soon you will be feeling better

So follow my orders to the letter

Come back here in a week

So I can take another peek

When that long you endure

Immunity has time to cure

There’s no way on earth

My shot is of any worth

But what I truly want, you see

Is for you to give credit to me

So that you spread all around

I’m the best doc of the town
