And a Bottle of Water to Drink
By Elton Camp
You know the product I mean.
More than the cost of gasoline.
If it is the one you have picked
Health standards are not strict
Just as tap water, it may be pure,
But you have no way to be sure.
That choice, you may content
Is in keeping with latest trend.
But this true finding is the trap
It’s no better than from the tap
Unless money not important to you
Water from the pipe, fine will do
Dasani comes from a natural source?
Philadelphia public water of course
Before it goes on your table
Take a glance at the label
Coca-Cola has never lied
Just tap water, purified
Mineral then put in
Drink up, my friend.
Think there are of this no more?
Same is true in one out of four
Pepsi’s Aquafina, very same way
Is it worth so much extra to pay?
Bottled water is lots cleaner, people think
Chemical contaminants may be in that drink
Studies have shown cases in which a sample
Shows quality control was far from ample
When plastics get too hot
Antimony leaches, not a lot
We have not yet to learn
If that’s a health concern
Bottles are made of polyethylene
Comes from oil, just like gasoline
Seventeen million barrels each year
Not something that we should cheer
Bottles are then most always thrown away
Will still be around in your grandchild’s day
Once those water containers have been made
Take hundreds of year before they degrade
Many landfills are full we know
So where will that much plastic go?
Hope you now clearly see what I mean
Drink, but don’t think you’re being green.
