An Invitation From the South

An Invitation From the South

By Elton Camp

Those who live with ice and snow

Have relatives from states below

While shoveling the sidewalk,

Their weather, these will mock

“Why live with winters so severe?

Have some sense, move down here.”

“Why let road salt eat up your car

By continuing living where you are?”

“Common sense you seriously lack.

Shoveling snow causes a heart attack.”

“Move where people all say, “Y’all”

Not where, on ice and snow, you fall.”

“Of a snow blower you’ll have no need.

My good advice you’d be wise to heed.”

“Get away from your icebox state.

For it’s a move you’ll never hate.”
