About Unfair, Angry Comments

By Elton Camp

If you post your work to the Internet

Annoyed comments you may get

“I just can’t stand any rhyming verse.

There’s no type poem that is worse.”

Then you’ll hear from some hack

“Rhythm and meter you do lack”

“A word you so badly did misspell

Thus I will assign you now to hell”

“Your views don’t coincide with mine.

Therefore, your writing isn’t so fine”

“You’re being judgmental,” he’ll say

“You’ve no right to say things that way”

About the old adage he needs to think

Our opinions and feet both can stink

Perhaps the reader, self does recognize

And responds in a way that is unwise

Right into my clutches he has played

By stepping into the trap I’ve laid

For I’ve learned how to jerk his chain

You can bet that I’ll be doing it again

Such disapproval is a delight to me

Thus, more of my work expect to see

Yet, your feelings don’t hesitate to say

Please try to phrase it in a loving way
