Chicago (New Poetry from 10-25-2008)
There's this windy city
That's beautiful at sight
The inner energy is great
Especially during each night

The buildings are tall
And weather can be tough
But, the people are great
I just can't get enough

It's right on the water
So many nights are cool
Yet it has big business
And its history so full

I forgot much of this
For many years away
But now that I'm gone
I miss it each day

Nice tribute. Can tell it's in your blood, the city is. Reminds me of that Glen Frey song from the 80's "You Belong In the City". (I think that's the title of it?)

those are the best ones. the ones i slave over are the ones that reside in the waste bin. but yes, this poem seems so pure (untouched by any pesky self censoring or establishing)

Thank you for the note and compliment... I only spent about 10 minutes on this poem early this morning (around 1 am).

great poem- nice tribute. I love the tone and the whimsy. Tis a little sing-songy, but it didnt detract from its message. wonderful and delightful.
