THE RAIN

THE RAIN

I sit on my porch and watched the rain,

As it weeps from a soggy sky.

I sit on my porch with coffee in hand,

In comfort and wondered why.

The bird sits quietly in the trees,

Watching the rain fall from the sky.

The bird and squirrel uncomfortably sit,

In the tree and wondered why.

The clouds grew thick and dark,

And rumble in the sky.

A lightning strike shakes the earth,

And the trees will wonder why.

Thunder and lightning wind and storms,

Pour down from the sky.

Nature's blessing, a part of life,

And still I wonder why

Why does the rain soothe my mood?

As it weeps from the soggy sky.

I mourn for loved ones that I miss,

And like the clouds, I cry.

Touching. I like how you incorporate nature and emotion into your poetry. To do that simply, yet get your point across is true skill. Another good one, Doc!
