glittering as a star
I heard of stories
During my childhood
Said by my grandmother
While staying outside home
On warm nights of my village
Laying on the lawn
Looking up at sky
Pointing one of the stars,
Shivering words of Granny,
“There, you see the bright one,
That is my beloved,
Your grandfather…”
Since then I watch
Each star carefully
To see any new grandfathers
They make their beloveds,
To weep when looking up,
Glittering on the sky
At warm and starry nights
One day I could see
A new star, with more brightness
I realised soon
My beloved grandmother
Today when standing
And watching the stars from the lawn
At warm and starry nights,
I long for the day to come,
To reach and join my beloveds
And glitter as a star with them.
