A Fishy story

In a small stream I moves swiftly
For me the journey has just begun
Upstream I go as I fight for space
Not far ahead is trouble from above

My heart pounds heavy as the shadow looms dark
The big brown bear waits on a rock
With the swipe of his paw the threat of death is real
The water turns red as blood swirls near

I move past quickly as my fears get worse
The top of the lake is not far away
Just then I hear a very big splash
An Eagle flies away with his meal for the day

My little fins move as fast as they can
Nothing to stop me; full speed ahead
I made it to the top of this big lake
It’s now my turn to spawn new life
Reproduction was my goal all along
My life is over, but nature lives on.

I love seeing things from the point of view of the fish! A very true poem...
