Does anyone really care?

Does anyone really care?
It's sad but true
All your dreams and visions
and all you've ever knew,
you hold in the palm of your hand
In the back of your mind
hoping someone else will find... you.

Dream your dreams and wonder through
the twisted road of life, hoping someone will find...you.
Time flies by, thoughts of those left behind
those who have gone before...you
how much did they do? what all did they say?
It's all now just fading memories of yesterday.

The future is bright they say
knowing full well it's just an old cliche'
If your lucky one day, when you are so far away
 someone will find...you
a thought you've left behind, a poem, a song, or creative rhyme
that hopefully has helped to define....you!

Poets never wonder what their legacy will be--no matter our struggles for fulfillment and to be 'found' in life, we know what we have left behind.

the tone of the poem is not negative at all

wonderful and profound- true and moving. without us, or the ones before us, the world could not be perpetual- we define ourselves, but yes artifacts, writings is what others use after we're gone - our imprint- i really like this poem...scratch that...love this poem...and its simplistic wonderment
