 GOD LOOKS ALOT LIKE YOU!

WHEN SPEAKING WITH OLD NOAH,
BACK BEFORE THE ARK BEGAN,
OUR GOOD LORD SAID HIS CHILDREN,
WERE THE “REASON” HE GOT MAD.

IS THERE SUCH A "REASON",
COULD ONE POSSIBLY EXIST,
BLAME ALL YOUR WORST BEHAVIOR,
ON EVERY SINGLE SOLITARY KID?

WORTHY EXPLANATIONS?
WHY REASONS FOR DEFENSE?
USED ANGER AS YOUR MOTIVE,

AND YOU MURDER WHEN INSENSED?

CAN’T CONTROL HIS FEELINGS?

WHAT KIND OF CRAP IS THAT,

THROWING TEMPER-TANTRUMS,

AND WHO KNOWS WHEN HE'LL CRACK?

HE MUST OF FULLY LOST IT,
COMPLETELY FLIPPED HIS LID,
TO SAY HIS SINNING CHILDREN,
MADE HIM DO THE THINGS HE DID?

GOD’S NEVER USED EXCUSES,
FOR HIS MOODS WITHIN?
THOSE CHOICES ARE HIS OWN,
GOD TAKES IT ON THE CHIN!

THAT’S HOW THE BIBLE WRITES IT,

IT’S BLATANT IN YOUR FACE,

SO WHY HAS NO ONE CHANGED IT,

IT’S AN OPEN AND SHUT CASE.

I WILL NEVER BUY THAT,
SOUNDS LIKE SOME BRATTY KID.
GOD STOMPS AROUND IN CIRCLES,

PARENTS WATCH  HIM THROW A FIT?

IT DOESN'T MAKE A BIT OF SENSE,
WE’RE TALKING ‘BOUT OUR FATHER,
COPING SKILLS HE BROUGHT FROM HEAVEN,
SHOULD NEVER EVER BOTHER !

GOD FLOODS OUR WHOLE ENTIRE WORLD?
DROWN EACH AND EVERY SOUL?
JUST BECAUSE HE'S FURIOUS?
THAT'S ONE’S HARD TO SWALLOW FULL!

HIS KIDS ROTTING AND DECAYING,
THEIR CORPSES BOB ACROSS THE SEA,

GOD SAW NO NEED FOR CASKETS,

THOUGHT THE WORLD COULD USE DISEASE?

CUZ WE'RE NOT TALKING ONE LIFE,
AND WE’RE NOT TALKING THREE,
WE'RE TALKING A MASS MURDER,
THE LIKES YOU'VE NEVER SEEN!

SO MAD THAT HE EXPLODED,

A COMPLETE AND UTTER SHOCKER,
NOW BLAMES HIS OWN CREATION,
FOR WHY HE FELL OFF HIS ROCKER?

WHY WOULD GOD EXPLAIN IT,

OR DEFEND IT AND TO WHO?

WHY JUSTIFY A REASON,

IF WHAT HE SAID IS TRUE?

GOD’S CHARACTER DEFINED,
BY THE BLAME THAT HE IGNORES,
WHILE DENYING HIS SUGGESTIONS,
RAISING KIDS ARE QUITE A CHORE!

ALL THIS SILLY BUSINESS,
MAKES SUCH LITTLE SENSE,
WE ALL CAN COUNT ON GOD,
HE NEVER JUMPS THE FENCE!

JUST LISTEN WITH YOUR HEART,
AND YOU’LL NEVER HAVE TO GUESS,
GOD’S ALWAYS GOT YOUR BACK,
AND HE ONLY ASKS YOUR BEST.

THERE'S NEVER BEEN MUCH DIFFERENCE,
BETWEEN FATHER AND HIS OWN,
HIS CHILDREN BRING HIM LIFE,
SO WITHOUT'EM HE'S ALONE.

MISTAKES ARE GOING TO HAPPEN,
GOD MAKES HIS OWN FAIR SHARE,
HE'S ALWAYS FIXING SOMETHING,
WHICH IS HOW WE KNOW HE'S THERE.

TO FALTER IS THE GOOD PART,
NOW WE PICK OURSELVES RIGHT UP,
KEEP RISING TO THE CHALLENGE,
NO NEED FOR ANY CRUTCH.

WE CHERISH OVERCOMING,
WE LIVE TO PERSEVERE,
WE SHOULD NEVER HARBOR WORRY,
OUR HEARTS SAVE NO ROOM FOR FEAR.

CUZ WE'RE ALL HIS SPITTING IMAGE,
FALLING CLOSELY TO HIS TREE,
GOD LOOKS SO MUCH LIKE YOU,
SOMETIMES HE ACTS A BIT LIKE ME...

I do understand it better, ckeoki, given your edits and explanation. I see a little more of what you meant that I hadn't seen before. Your struggle with the if, how, and why of the Flood is a valid discussion and regardless of whether or not I agree with your conclusions I think you expressed your feelings on the matter more clearly this time around. I liked the end of your poem the best. God is still our Father & Creator and loves us and I think you captured that toward the end :) Have a great day!

CKEOKI, I read your poem several times but I was unable to understand where you were going with it. It seemed to start one way (disbelief in God's actions as stated in the Bible) and end in another (expressing your frustration with people's actions as a result of disregarding the Almighty up to and including abortion). I got where you started in 'thought drops' and transitioned into a deluge of thoughts and expression. I get the mood of the poem. However, because I was unable to catch on to a particular line of thought I am not able to appreciate what it is you're trying to say regardless of whether or not I agree with you. It is entirely possible that I am just not experiencing your work as it was meant. I wonder as well if the caps are distracting from your intended message. Perhaps some editing might help clarify your position and get your point across more effectively. Good luck :)

Ckeoki... I am confused at soo many levels. I have one theoretical question..., - If 'one' stands near the ocean looking across its limitless, vast body of blue..., do they, by virtue of 'looking' become 'omniscient' of all life that exists within it's deep? In my view…, to understand 'God' simply by 'standing at the ocean's shore' only narrows our view until we are willing to place our feet, ankles, knees, waist, chest, shoulders, arms, head, and whole body within it’s vast expanse and be willing to see a reality different than the one we imagined from the shoreline. Seeing, as we see, 'through the lenses of our own prism, only serves to 'limit', debase, and short change our personal expression to and for our creator. God..., if you believe in a god, has no challengers and needs no defense. The way WE 'perceive' God in no way diminishes Him any more than any of us who would believe the earth is flat – believing does not always make it so. Many have 'falsely' accused and will continue to - much the same is true of the way we accuse our parents. I believe we see through the limits of our own prisms - though our 'belief' will affect the universal reality very little. To simply 'look' across the vast blue ocean, and form a hypothesis without further research (stepping into the ocean)..., then issue a ‘less than flattering’ description of the limits of your experience…, does not the whole truth make. Is your glass half filled... or half empty? Though we may define the world in terms of OUR understanding..., it will never the 'whole' truth make. If you are 'truly' in search of truth - continue digging.

You know, I truly hate this poem, and the fact that it went on for so many verses is one more negative for me against this poem. It should've stopped at the first verse, it would've gotten a better score from me. Oh, and by the way, next time you write about the Bible, read it first so you don't sound so ignorant!!!!

Synopsis
GOD BLAMED HIS CHILDREN FOR ACTING "A FOOL" SO HE FLOODED THE WORLD, AND I HAVE TO ASK MYSELF WHY IN THE WORLD WOULD THE GUY WHO INVENTED THE WORLD EVER UTILIZE ANY NEGATIVE FEELING. IF I INVENTED THE WORLD, MY CHARACTER WOULD ONLY CONSIST OF POSITIVE LOVING FEELINGS, I'D BE THE FUNNIEST GUY ON THE PLANET, SORE CHEEKS, SORE ABS, HAPPY AND LAUGHING NON-STOP, AND THAT'S REAL...WHAT DOES GOD HAVE TO WORRY ABOUT? GOD DOESN'T WORRY, GOD PARTIES, FACE IT!I'D NEVER, EVER, EVER, EVER EVER, GO ANYWHERE NEAR HATE, ANGER OR WORRY...NEVER EVER, IF I WAS THE ONE WHO INVENTED FEELINGS, WOULDN'T HAPPEN EVER!!
