Unrequited Love

You see him

And he gives you red roses

With a cheeky grin

And a glimmer in his eyes.

He takes your hands

And pulls you close

And your heart aches;

You’ve never been happier.

He pulls away

And with a wink

He turns around

And fades away

Leaving you alone with outstretched hands.

Your eyes open

You see him

And he gives you a yellow rose.
