Introvert
What's your personality type, you ask.
I'm an introvert, I reply.
Really? Couldn't tell
Of course you couldn't tell
How can I be me
When I'm punished for being me?
Just be yourself, you say.
Yet you try to change me
The school tries to change me
Everybody tries to change me.
What's wrong with you
You need to speak up
You need to open up

But who are you to tell me what I need
When I say without speaking
When my words have no meaning.
How do you know
When you've never seen
behind my walls?
What you see is what you want to see
I am but a puppet of your design
While I scream from behind the curtains
Waiting for my turn.
And now it's my turn.
And I come out on stage.
And I am alone.
And I am silent.
And I am at peace.
