Dreaming

I have many vivid dreams.

Daytime musings

Subconscious fears

Wistful fantasies

Become reality

In the darkness behind my eyes.

It’s been a while

Since they reflected reality

But when they do

When the floodgates open

And my heart leaps to my throat

I know

It’s the truth

Be it past, present or future.

Call it premonition

Or skeptics call it

Thinking too much.

Maybe everyone else is just

Thinking too little

And we’re the only ones

Who can see the world

As the disaster it is

Instead of pretending

Everything is fine.
