Clifford

Everyone saw hate in him,

But I saw love.

Everyone saw him as a tarantula,

But I saw him as a dove.

Everyone shut him out,

But I let him in.

Everyone thought he was evil,

But in him, I saw no sin.

Everyone saw him frown,

But I saw him smile.

Everyone thought he was not worth anything,

But I thought he was quite worth the while.

Everyone wanted him to go somewhere else,

But I wanted him to stay.

No one really cares that he's gone,

But I'm devastated that he's gone away.

Everyone saw him as a leech; to them he was just always there.

But I could see it in his eyes that he truly did care.

No matter how silly or foolish it sounds, he was my first real love.

He was always able to lift my spirits and take me up above.

Everyone taunted and teased him, this he did not realize.

He really was my truth, my companion, my amazing prize.

He never seemed to leave me; no matter what I did, he was always there.

Even though he never said a word,

I still know in my heart how much he truly cared.

Nice poem and feelings. That which everyone thinks is not good for you or even who is not good for you sometimes is the best thing for you. But only you know that in your heart.
