WHEN WE SLEEP

When we sleep

We exist in a quiescent state

Like caterpillars in their cocoons

Waiting to one day again

Emerge onto the world

More vibrant and more beautiful then before.

In this ecstasy of calmness

There is nothing but absolute rhythm

That the heaven has given us.

We abandon all thoughts of moral existence

And submerge on a journey

Into the deepest parts of the cosmos,

Passed time and space

Only to come to a place we might already know

Or will soon come to know in the days to come.

So we close our eyes, clear our minds

Open our hands and breathe in freedom.

We all let go of our egos

Like leaves that have fallen

From its tree in the middle of November.

We are all open to a different reality

From what we have seen in our day to day lives.

In this truth we are robed in a light of brilliance

Where we find refuge\a sense of self

And a communion with angels

Who stand guard on the dust of the stars

Watching and ensuring that no harm comes to us

As we carry the colors of the rainbow in our souls

While walking and dancing on the surface of the sun.

If we could learn to connect the metaphysical

With the elements of the moral physical

When our hearts are like open flowers

And speak to each other without words.

We could evolve towards enhancing

Our environment\ourselves\and the world

By implementing the ancient science of sleep.
