THE STORM HAS PASSED
I sit here in a frenzy
Exhausted from the pacing of the floor
Once again lost in the memories of our past
Humiliated within from the pitiful longing I feel for you

Hastily I find your pictures and wale from my misery
I am lost in the moment
There is no awakening from the trance I am in
Praying that time will interrupt the longing I feel for you

I suddenly come to my senses
Put away the pictures, all memories of us
Dry the tears, and let the sunshine in once again
I will be ok, for the storm has passed

How many of us have felt this and done this? You speak for millions, myself included. Good job!

amazing the contrast of poems you write. I really like this. It amost seems like my poem "fidelity" was a prelude to this work. I really enjoyed this painful poetic work- with each line I can feel the struggle. I do think a rhyme scheme may work well here too. But it is original and I like the style you put into this. For me, some of the lines could have more "umph" if you reverse the order or the clauses...example: "in the moment, I am lost" and " "A trance I am in from which there is no awakening" etc. This poem is wonderful as it is...but i can tell the author has more to inject into it. Great work. Keep writing this good stuff, biddixgirl!
