THE MOMENT
I sit in this silent room thinking of things to come
Pleasure, sadness or wishes granted?
I feel a tranquil spirit surrounding me
Is this the peace I have been searching for all these years?

I can hear the roar of traffic in the streets below
Almost as a background in a movie
I hear it but it does not interrupt this peace I feel
Almost like a rhapsody, it enhances my thoughts

I close my eyes to see only darkness
Taking me even deeper into the place I feel
I take a deep breath and totally relax my body
A moment feels like eternity

I am startled by a knock at the door
This visitor has taken away my peace, my tranquility
I try to ignore the sound, but to no avail
I get to my feet to answer their call
Maybe tomorrow I can find that peace again
Even if only for a moment

Welcome back! And you came back with a great poem here for i often do the same thing, wonder the same thoughts. True peace of mind has no price. It is priceless. Sukie sums it up nicely.
