LIFE'S CHANGES
Time is like the enemy it takes our treasures away
The youth we have at 16 will surely not stay
The first love we vow will always, stay right by our side
Sent you a dear John letter, broke your heart, made you cry
A mom and dad you counted on, got their advice everyday
Dad died last December, we buried mama today

The day you said you said your wedding vows to your lover, your best friend
Now they are with someone else, and you're alone again
The children you thought would drive you nuts, always under your feet
Just to hear that laughter again would make your day complete

Friends we made at the job, now will be moving away
They really have no choice, the company closed their doors today
The little faces of grandchildren, depended on grandma to dry their tears
They won't be around much anymore, they start college this year
Hands that used to be so strong, worked hard everyday
Now they're tired, and a little crooked, old age has changed them this way

Life is made up of changes, some are good, some are bad
Today's little aggravations, might be the finest treasures we have
Take the time to tell someone, I LOVE YOU everyday
That might be the last words you say to them, they could be going away
We are all given blessings, but no guarantee how long they will stay
Recognize them, hold them, love them, they will be your memories one of these day's
