Minocqua
sour old Minocqua ghosts
laugh at Jason on the playground
mortal Jason chained to boulders
who tries in vain to climb

on monkey bars though he's out
of shape and it's not easy to
pull yourself up when you're mortal
and weigh 200 pounds

even the oaks know their place
but the deer must gallop onward
and ghosts no longer understand
the tantalizing urge

of escaping gravity

Minocqua, a town, yes? It could be a native american spirit or anything though. Sometimes it is good to orient the reader if the name of a place is not known. That aside, this is fine fine poetry. It is powerful. I love the allusion to Jason. The heart of a child is not to be chained and will find its wings. Yes? Oaks and ghosts ... brilliant ... final lines .... brilliant ... i knew there was a reason i wanted to be yer friend. oO!!!
