Introducing Youngsters: The Notion of Individual Heritage

The article aims to introduce youngsters to the notion of individual heritage by raising awareness of their own tangible, intangible, social and cultural values. An endeavor made to build and stand youngsters in the role of historical detectives. The purpose of this paper is to explore the struggle an individual giving for intellectual heritage. Youngsters are encouraged to explore their own family histories, rituals and cultural norms and, in doing so, to acquire a keener awareness of their own cultural identification.

The cognitive process of heritage provides the ground for several discussions leading to an outstanding level of transmission and acceptance of ethical values. The process is also the basis of imparting identification to an individual, family or nation. Identity and heritage has a beneath enriched relationship and both convey the importance of past and present people, days and events that affect their lives. They also communicate the essence and treasures of passed generations to the upcoming generations.

Put in straightforward expression ‘as long as something perceived bearing any value, preserved and handed over to the upcoming generation, this can be considered heritage’. It is what an individual, family, community, nation or the world considers worth preserving as an entity or belief and imparting that adored contribution to the accessible forthcoming. Hence, there is an individual’s heritage, family heritage, national heritage and so forth.

Although, our targets that we construct, hold and inherit sustain extraordinary significance. This possibly because of how we utilize them, how they relate us to our family and to our ancestry, how they become a source of our actualization and aspiration as individuals. Let’s take an example of greetings; greetings are part from rituals of a culture. The manners, the way we greet people whom we acknowledge them or even we do not acknowledge them, in diverse situations, of diverse age groups are part of our individual heritage. Thus, it shows that even the individual heritage begins with you and nurtures all the way around.

The notion of heritage leans on highly diversified value systems, from the values of single individual to those of a community and to those of the entire humanity. These value systems or may say value orientations are constantly in evolution. It is because each expression of heritage interconnected with other similar and dissimilar expressions, which marks it into the listing of evolution entity.

The dilemma is that older way of life is rapidly disappearing. Urbanization, Industrialization and Westernization largely dissemble our cultural norms. The older arts, rituals, and other kinds of intangible cultural expressions that formulated the unique prevailing path were also in risk of rapidly vanishing. The modern civilization has to serve the Intangible cultural heritage systematic expressions rather than having pushed to extinction.

The notion heritage is not just firmly based upon particular facts. It makes us who we are. It provides us our history, part of what makes us different from others. Many people in this world today needs to know their ancestral background. They are enthusiastic to reach towards their lineage and to reform the essence of individual heritage. We have to understand that our lives can be more than just sitting on computers, playing video games, eating unhealthy food, having junk activities and so forth. We know that someone somewhere in our bloodline is a mystifying personality who inspired people, and who helped someone in some manner, shape or form.

To preserve and continue the transmission of our cultural heritage, we have to provide a charge to the best accustomed and accomplished bodies who accept the ability to advance accurate values, whereas it is our responsibility that they should be encouraged to address it to others. We need those living human treasures so-called ‘maintainers’ who are capable of training our youngsters in the techniques of their art. As an example, An item of tangible cultural heritage exhibited in a museum as an asset of ancient times by which future generations gain divine inspiration, systematically an item of intangible cultural heritage can also be recognized as an asset of ancient times which influence future dawn. Thus, these are ways to reform individual heritage in youngsters who can keep alive their ancestors rituals, norms and can be a symbol of active individual heritage.
