A Murder at the Meeting
Seething.  Seething
With embarrassment and
Frustration at my
'Professional Peers'.

Here for a day out
Here for an argument
Here to...belittle others.

The lady at the front:
Easy target ,
Tender meat,
Peck out any faults,
Relish any stutter,
Any stammer,
Any sigh.

Agitators, agitating,
playing victim to
Victimise
Purse my lips.
Don't stand out:
Stand up -
"Shut up!"

"So...sorry"
Not sorry
My problem is..
Your problem is...
Everybody's business.

Pressure rises.
Tension. Angst.
Mutterings,
Musing,
Accusings,
Sighs.

Anger rises.
Frustration - grunts,
Flutterings,
Fumings,
Consuming
Whys!

Shifting in seats
As another hand
Rises
Eyes roll
"So...sorry...
I don't understand".

Beaks open
Eyes sharp
Flap...Flap.
Caaaaaaaaaw!!!
What a waste of time.

Thanks for your comments, though I am beginning to question the last stanza, or maybe the last line. Might not need it.

humor and sharp wit. what a lethal combination. reminds me of the movie "the birds" the poor acting, fake special effects- but somehow in this scenario i imagine the "woman" clawing the crows eyes or feathers out in a deranged frenzie. truly a lovely agitated poem...it put be right there in the midst of the meeting. Someone from down south educated me on the term "clusterf" it reminds me of this.

A murder of crows. The women reminded me of cawing crows. They pecked at the poor woman running the meeting until she was nearly in tears!

Good job! The rythm and words fit together nicely... except, I don't get the last stanza, but that's just me. I do have a hard time with poetry sometimes. Anyways, great! :^))
