    • I'm a wanna-be psychologist and studied for my degree some years ago while bringing up two rapscallions on my own. It all proved too much and I became seriously ill, which I remain to this day. But this little hiccup in life has led me in the direction of my real love - writing. I have every excuse to indulge myself in the craft as I'm unable to work in a conventional job.

One of those two rapscallions has given me two gorgeous grandchildren and the other is now studying psychology herself, allowing me, as she says, to live vicariously through her!

I'm in a committed relationship and hope to be married next year although I still find men impossible to understand and sometimes think I've woken up beside an extraterrestrial. Such is love.

As for my writing, please criticize to your hearts' content. I want to know if it's boring, unwieldy, too formal, too casual or just plain in need of a darned good edit. I want to be a superior writer - not a mediocre one. Love and light, Mel

...You are, and have always been a true source of light and love. Your words of inspiration bring 'clarity' to and in the world in which I exist. As always... thank you Mel

Here listening with one ear to an unscheduled speech by our new Mr. Obama to Congress--detailing his new plan to revamp our economy--I was in the hospital on election day and didn't get to vote for him, though saw all the activities on TV--which is when I saw myself in the mirror in my hospital room's bathroom, and was shocked how I had aged and somehow 'shrunk' after a sleepless night in the emergency room--like your wonderful poem 'inheritance', but know, too, that my imagination and some skill has been passed down to me which seems to exist separate from the good and bad days. Have had some of the latter-health and worry, that you know about as well. I've been working on "Emma's Gold" which is taking on a life of it's own and have gotten a lot of encouragement from everyone here, which is gratifying. I've no idea where it's going and take it a chapter at a time. Good to read your stuff again and hope you are feeling better!

Hullo my friends, It's been a while since I've been able to come into the writing room as I've been away from home and have had very limited and slow internet access. I'll be back home in a couple of weeks and looking forward to getting back in touch with you all and to posting some more writing here. Thank you for the lovely Christmas wishes. I hope you've all had the most wonderful and peaceful time and that 2009 is going to be a year to remember for all the right/write reasons. Mel
