    • I'm a writer, artist and activities director. I love to try new things and am beside myself because I don't know how to get into this industry. If I could write all day and do nothing else, I would in a second!

I can't wait to meet new people through this amazing site!

        • I'm a serious sucker for Harry Potter. I love J.K. Rowling's way of really putting you in the action and the way you are able to grow up with the main characters.

I love White Oleander by Janet Fitch (the movie was horrible, by the way. Don't watch it if you've read the book).

I really enjoy young adult fiction, and the main author I praise is Philip Pullman and his book Golden Compass. He had two others following it (Subtle Knife and Amber Spyglass) but didn't like them quite as much.

I really like A Clockwork Orange even through its difficult gang slang. I couldn't stop saying "glazz" for eye or "Horrorshow" for good for weeks after I read it.

I really love it when authors split the story between two or more characters. It gives us a chance to hear inside each of their heads rather than just one person's perspective. Books that I love that do this are Lovely Bones, The Stolen Child, and the last of the Twilight series (Breaking Dawn).

Wicked, of course, was outstanding. I love a twist to a golden oldie. This book actually made Elphaba (the Wicked Witch of the West) look very misunderstood and Glinda very spoiled. It has political, social and ethical themes pulled through it. A GREAT read.

Stephen King is amazing. The Shining, It and Lisey's Story are all fantastic!

The list could truly go on...

        • I have a movie's bad! I own over 300 movies and still love to go to The Exchange and search through the $1 movies for one of my favorites.

I love ALL movies of ALL genres from Independent to lovey dovey: Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, Love Actually, Poltergeist, Ghostbusters (I & II), Legend (with young Tom Cruise and Tim Curry), Parenthood (with Steve Martin), etc...

I also love the movie-going experience. GOING to the theater, smelling the hot popcorn, sitting in the soft seats--it's just priceless.

I know you either love it or you hate it, but I love Across the Universe. It was very well done!

This list could really go on as well...

        • Tegan and Sara, Ben Folds, Death Cab for Cutie, Mahtisyahu, Pepper, The Decemberists, Neko Case, Smashing Pumpkins, Metric, Modest Mouse, Belle and Sebastian, Ted Leo, Slackers, New Pornographers, Stars, etc.

Luckily, my fiance is music crazy (crazy like I am with movies), so I get to learn about new music all the time. I can never keep track of everything he's listening to!

        • Cooking shows galore! I love to watch them, learn and then try to make it. Barefoot Contessa, Everyday Italian and Top Chef!

I also liked Project Runway when it was around. Drama!

Flight of the Conchords is hilarious! The Office, Nate and Kate Plus Eight, The Simpsons too!

        • I love The New York Times, Plain Dealer and the local paper, Lakewood Observer.

        • Writing, of course. I went into school with a magazine journalism degree and got to learn an ENTIRELY different way of writing that I was ever used to. AP style, baby.

I wrote a children's book about a grandson and his pappy and their relationship as his pappy develops Alzheimer's. I think this is a serious need because its written so a child can really understand the effects of what their loved one is going through.

I love to draw and paint and color. Take pictures. Craft everything! Read and watch movies. Hike in the Metroparks. And of course, learn and think about new things to do with the tenants at Wiggin's Place. My current job is at an assisted living, apartment-style building and I am in charge of their life enrichment. It's a VERY fun job!
