    • When I was a little girl I loved to watch The Love Boat. One week Andy Warhol was a guest star. From that moment I became obsessed with him. I decided at a young age that it was okay not to fit in. I've always been a misfit and I've almost always been at peace with that.

        • I read constantly. I love nonfiction books, especially history books, biographies and books about design. Good fiction books cause me to pump my fist in the air and celebrate being alive. A Confederacy of Dunces by John Kennedy Toole is my idea of perfection. I also love To Kill a Mockingbird by Harper Lee and A Tree of Night by Truman Capote. It is a collection of short stories and Miriam is a story that moves me deeply. My nine year old daughter is a huge Shakespeare fan so I read a lot of Shakespeare to her. I also love CS Lewis and the Bible. I've read everything Roald Dahl ever wrote (my son is a huge fan) and while I don't like all of it I admire his talent.

        • My favorite movie of all time is The Blues Brothers.

        • Songs constantly play in my head. I wish I could sing but I sound awful but it's okay because I have an encyclopedic ear. Some of my favorite song writers are David Bowie, Paul Simon, The Beatles, Dolly Parton, Johnny Cash, Carly Simon, RUN DMC. I just like what I like and anyone looking through my music collection would probably think I was crazy in the head. Honestly, I just recognize talent when I hear it and don't pigeon hole myself.

        • I really liked that new show Castle but I can take or leave TV most of the time.

        • T.S. Eliot is a favorite of mine. I also love the poems of Edgar Allan Poe. Emily Dickinson is another one I love to read and re-read. Her poems are so deep that you have to examine them several times and you get a different interpretation almost every time. Because she wrote poems during war time I've been drawn to her lately.

        • I live in Houston so I read the Houston Chronicle and Houston Press. I also like to read the New York Times on Sundays.

        • The Muppets. They convinced me that my imagination could one day pay the bills.
