    • I am Janice Haskins-Scott. I am a self - published author who has been writing for over twenty years. Though I have never had any formal training, I've written two books and I am in in process of writing two more. I love writing poetry. It is such a personal subject to me. I also enjoy writing short stories.

I am also a recovering substance abuser and I abused myself for twenty-four years. I am happy and very proud to say that I have been drug/alcohol free now, for these past fifteen years. And I praise God! For it is by His grace alone that I am still among the living. The poems that I write about my abuse are written to inspire and encourage others not to even entertain the thought of doing it. But also to tell others that God is a forgiving God and that it doesn't matter what you've done, or where you've been. God will always make it so that you can begin your life again!

My poetry book is entitled: "Reflections of a Warrior - Understanding Substance Abuse recovery Through Poetry". My novel is entitled: "MISPLACED". Excerpts of both books can be read and or purchased at:

I have been reading several works on this site and I have read several excellent works. As I will continue to comment on the works that I read, I would appreciate any and feedback on my poetry. Thank you.
