THANKYOU FOR WHAT YOU WROTE MY MY MASSAGE BOARD. YOUR WORDS WERE VERY INSPIRING. BECAUSE OF SCHOOL, I HAVEN'T BEEN ABLE TO READ YOUR WORK, BUT I READ ONE TODAY, AND YOU HAVE A GREAT GIFT FOR WRITING. I PROMISE, I WILL READ MORE WORKS THAT YOU HAVE WRITTEN WHEN I GET THE CHANCE.

Here listening with one ear to an unscheduled speech by our new Mr. Obama to Congress--detailing his new plan to revamp our economy--I was in the hospital on election day and didn't get to vote for him, though saw all the activities on TV--which is when I saw myself in the mirror in my hospital room's bathroom, and was shocked how I had aged and somehow 'shrunk' after a sleepless night in the emergency room--like your wonderful poem 'inheritance', but know, too, that my imagination and some skill has been passed down to me which seems to exist separate from the good and bad days. Have had some of the latter-health and worry, that you know about as well. I've been working on "Emma's Gold" which is taking on a life of it's own and have gotten a lot of encouragement from everyone here, which is gratifying. I've no idea where it's going and take it a chapter at a time. Good to read your stuff again and hope you are feeling better!
