    • Me? You want know about me? Heh. Well…

I go by many names: Nyronus, Arak, Ragnarok, but, just to make it simple you may call me Michael. I am a male of an unspecified age around 16 and that lives in an unspecified town in Louisiana. I will tell you I go to Slidell High. I trust you all enough not to come stalk me without permission. That and I trust my sword arm enough to seriously damage said stalkers, should they get out of hand.

Now that the preliminaries are out of the way, about me: My hobbies include writing, acting, deep thought, drawing, pixel art, and amateur photography. I have written, too my credit, one short novel, the beginning of the sequel, the beginning of a short story, twenty or so poems, only eight of which are really worth reading, a large number of essays, three thesis papers, three paragraph long packets of absurdity, several pages of notes on fictional characters and places, and my own language. My personal philosophy is a mix of Ayn Rand’s Objectivism and Transcendentalism, and some stuff that actually belongs to me.

I am currently in High school and plan to go to college. My grades are… decent. I have a 3.5 average, this year. I am a card carrying Thespian and am a non-registered member of the robotics club. As part of drama I have played the role of S.B., a typical Hollywood mogul, in my previous school’s production of Hubba Hubba, and several chorus roles and bit parts in a production of Les Miserables and again in Millie.

I have a wide taste in music, enjoying everything from rock to rap, from Osborne to Beethoven. My iPod has 7095 songs on it and has tracks with everything from the Chrono Trigger OST to Bruce Springsteen Greatest Hits. I have songs with lyrics in Japanese, German, Italian and French. It’s hard to find a song I DON’T like.

My taste in books lies predominantly in the realm of fantasy and science-fiction, although it’s harder to classify than that. I like Good Books. That’s the only way I can describe it. I enjoy the work of people like Robert Jordan and Terry Brooks, but also like Nathaniel Hawthorne and Victor Hugo. I am infatuated with Stephen King, and love Ayn Rand. I’ll read almost anything, and keep reading it for as long as it holds my interest. Its not just fiction, either. I’ll read non-fiction if it’s on a topic I’m interested in.

Movies and T.V. shows are a passing interest for me. I watch a lot of movies, and enjoy most of them. I don’t watch normal T.V. much anymore. I’ll watch certain series if their on while I’m inside, but won’t go out of my way to do so. When it comes in anime, I much prefer to watch a DVD collection than to deal with Cartoon Network for it.

As for religion, I am officially listed as “Atheist,” but allow me to clarify. For me, religion is nothing more than a philosophy enforced and combined with rituals and fables. So, one could argue that my religion is Objectivism. Or a cousin thereof. I take a mixture of Objectivist morality and epistemology, Transcendentalist style individualism, Rationalism, traditional Skepticism, Romantic Idealism, and my own pet Metaphysical theory for my personal philosophy. I do not believe in a personal or spiritual God. It is my belief that the universe is an inherently logical thing. Not to say that human logic made the universe, but that the universe made human logic. It is my belief that life is a natural bi-product and function of the universe. No divine will. No man in the sky, just one great flowing cycle in the only perpetual motion device out there.

As you can tell I’m the kind of guy who thinks. A lot. It’s what I do. I spend a lot of free time contemplating things (Hah! Take that Existentialism!). History, Philosophy, Science. All that and more.

My dream is to one day become a famous author and philosopher. I want my books to be popular contemporarily and at least have one book that will outlast me and be talked about after I’m gone. I want to be rich enough to live off my writing, but don’t care about being wealthy or overly rich. Should writing fall through I can fall back on being an English teacher, an actor, a stand up comedian, or a philosopher.
