    • I am a 45 year old reformed workaholic who has discovered there is more to life than working all hours and now prefer to work all hours writing and learning photography as well as working so life is busier but much more fun.

        • I wil read almost anything and have a wide range of different styles of writing in my collection. I tend to read a book according to my mood and go back and forwards from the classics to contemporary depending on how I feel. My favourites at the moment are
Haruki Murakami, Sheri S Tepper, Jane Austin, the Brontes, the Kay Scarpetta stories, Rita Mae Brown, some of the Alex Cross stories, Tolstoy.

        • Again, I have a collection of DVDs that I dip in and out depending on my mood. I love the beauty and skill of films such as House of Hidden Daggers, Hero and The Banquet yet also enjoy more cosy stories such as Its Complicated and Persuasion. My recent favourite was the latest Jane Eyre film which, after the lush over the top releases of many period tales recently was refreshingly new and stripped back to the essentials of the story. This allowed the acting and dialogue to stand out without distractions.

        • David Sylvian, Tory Amos, Evanescence, Prokofiev, Rachmaninov.

        • Not a lot on these days worth watching. Hate soaps, reality shows and sport so there doesn't seem to be much left. Really enjoyed the first episode of Call the Midwife. Bit addicted to home design shows - planning for when win the lottery and can build own home!

        • Busso, Bushto, Issa.
Love the sparse beauty of Haiku.

        • Omit needless words, vigorous writing is concise. A sentence should contain no unnecessary words and a paragraph no unnecessary sentences. This requires not that the writer makes his sentences short, or that he avoid all detail and treat his subjects only in outline but that every word tells.
          William Stunk Jnr
          The Elements of Style.

        • Writing, photography. My cats and my garden.
Learning new things because there are so many amazing things in the world that I have never seen because I have been too busy working.

I am still learning to negotiate this website so if I haven't managed to comment on anyone's work yet it is not through want of trying! Am to computers what Ghengis Khan was to foreign relations!
