This group has been started to help raise awareness of the poets, writers and sites that make up Poetrydances.
Poetrydances.com (the main site) and Poetrydances.ning.com (social network)
are posting or publishing selected new poems and poem links on a daily basis.
Poetrydances, has strong links in place here at writingroom.com and enjoys being able to display links to selected poems from writingroom.com members. We'd like to build on the relationship and have started this group as a means to hopefully do that.
So - if you are interested in becoming more involved with Poetrydances-
please join this group and we'll try to keep you in the loop with new developments. We'll also stop by your poem pages and read your work when we can!

Member voting via Votecast arrives at poetrydances!
Overview of Votecast
Votecast - is a monthly contest feature of Poetrydances.ning.com, which offers members a chance to better see how their writing is being received by others. This is beyond the feedback currently available from the 'replies' feature available on poems posted on the Site. It also gives members controlled arena for a drop of friendly competition. The other benefit of Votecast is that a percentage of members with the highest scoring poems each month will have their poems linked and listed on the main Site at Poetrydances.com (this includes a poem of the month selection). Poetrydances.com currently enjoys front page positioning on all main search sites, offering the potential of greater exposure for writers with work posted on the Site.
Votecast breaks away from the "I voted for your poem- I expect a vote for mine" scenarios sometimes found out there.To further help the anonimity of the process- it will not be possible to add replies to poems entered into the Contests- only votes.
Votecast allows a member to:
* Make a limited number of votes (anonymously via the Votecast system) each month against the poems of other members in the Votecast Contest category.
* Receive anonymous votes from other members against their own new poems in the Votecast Contest category, throughout the month.

We have also included a few updates re search engine ranking and our poetry network over at ning.

There are now 323 writers involved- and plenty of cool apps etc to keep you entertained. Also, for the moment- all poems posted on the Network will be considered for inclusion on the main site, poetrydances.com. One member recently got discovered up by agent who was looking over the network site - and is now being represented for a publishing contract ( more on that story to follow).
We are still being returned 5 times on page one of Google.com out of over 18M results for the search Great Poetry Networks- here is the Google link. We're also returned on page one of many other main search sites for the same search.
The search read great poetry pulls us up on page one of Google.com too- out of 58.2 M other results!

The Poetrydances Blog Jog is an idea that came together to run at the end of Poetry Month (i.e this month!).
So what is it exactly?
Its a promo event we are running to raise awareness in Poetrydances and
the personal blog sites of members. Whereby members visit and join/sign
up to a limited number (6 min. but the more the merrier!) of other
member's blogs.
What do you need to have/do if you want to get involved?
- Join/be an existing member of poetrydances.ning.com
- Have a blog site (outside of Poetrydances)
- Just add a link to your blog in reply to this news item http://poetrydances.ning.com/forum/topics/join-in-the-great-poetrydances
- 'Badge up' to Poetrydances- by picking up one of our badges posting it on your blog.
When is the jog itself?
It starts on April 25th and will last until the end of April. During
this time you (if you are a participating member ) will need to visit
the 3 blogs on either side of your own blog on the list- don't worry if
you are at the start or end of the list because both 'ends' of the list
will be joined to form one 'loop' in effect. (i.e Members at the start
of the list will visit sites at the end of the list where necessary and
vice versa)
After your jog's finished- you will just need to update the 'Blog Jog'
page ( which will be put together shortly) to show progress.

So nothing to do at the moment but sign up if you want to by replying
to this news item- with a link to your blog. Also please' Badge up' to
Poetrydances as soon as you can, but at the latest prior to the 25th
April.
There are of course no guarantees that all members will follow through
and make the required visits- the final completed jog list will though
be visible to everyone.
Please ask your friends to join (those both in and outside of Poetrydances!)
