        • I love reading historical biographies, but I do love reading fiction by Jane Austen, Thomas Hardy, and Sarah Dunnant among others. I love writers who evoke the senses and create a beautiful, if desolate, at times, world around me.
I love poetry (obviously)- and have a very soft spot for John Donne.

        • I love music and have a wide range in taste. Tori Amos has been a hero of mine for years and I also have great respect for Neil Hannon of The Divine Comedy. I love both the melodies and the lyrics of these artists. When I was little, I loved songs that told a story - and that has stayed with me. Brought up on Bread, The Beatles, Elkie Brookes and Brenda Lee - I still go for artists who write with a strong narrative element.

        • As mentioned before, I love John Donne. I also love D H Lawrence, the poets of the first World War, and Carol Ann Duffy, among many others.

I very much enjoy your skillful use of words in such effortless ways to bring images and actual textures to the reader ... your writing is light and humorous with serious skill behind it ... you don't fool me with you enchanting style of writing, I have seen it before and I shall see it again in poetry books which I admire ...
